The SIG Virtual Environment Speaker series seeks to explore all things virtual environments. Traditionally our speaker series meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month (Except August, we like to take a breather) In general, the speakers are interviewed by yours truly, Spiff Whitfield to seek and understand the projects of the speaker series. Back-Channeling is highly encouraged, with Spiff doing his best to ask questions in the order they are given. Please look at the links above for the current speaker bio. Also please go to our new home base for more information. As of now our speaker series will be hosted at different locations.

In general Virtual Environments are any digitally produced environment that allows for exploration and building through an avatar. While they have their similarities to "gaming" VE usually doesn't involve scoring or points, or leveling up. But that is not a hard and fast rule. (ex. World of Warcraft) Some examples of Virtual Environments that we have discussed.
